Pests We Treat Photo Album: Putting an End to the Rodents Burrowing Underneath the Shed in Warren, NJ
Now that our Pest Control team removed the rats from this property in Warren, NJ, we're going to stop them from harboring underneath the deck.
Found a Rat Burrow Here
We located a rat burrow here...
Over Here
...and another here too! Rats create these burrows to travel from their nest to a food source and to escape predators. Rat burrows usually contain a main entrance and 1 or 2 exit holes away from the main entrance.
Under the Doors
There was also a wide gap underneath the doors of the gate.
Digging a Trench
To exclude them from the home, we dug a 12 inch deep trench...
To Install Hardware Cloth
....and then installed hardware cloth.
Down and Out
The hardware cloth is installed 12 inches deep and 12 inches out from the bottom of the deck.
L Shape That's Sturdy
This creates a sturdy "L shaped" perimeter that will prevent rats, as well as nuisance wildlife, from burrowing and nesting underneath the area.
