Pests We Treat - Look for the Yellow Stains

While the carpenter bee burrows into the wood, it leaves behind sawdust called "frass." There is also yellow staining left on the siding where the gallery is located which is their fecal matter. This is an easy way to tell if you have a carpenter bee infestation.
