Termites Emerging Along Kitchen Baseboards in Sea Girt, NJ
Challenge
We were sent out to a home in Sea Girt, NJ to treat for a potential termite issue. The homeowner mentioned seeing several of them in her kitchen, so we immediately inspected those areas once we arrived. Minutes into our inspection we confirmed the customer's suspicion that these were in fact subterranean termites. They had several mud tubes bursting out along the baseboards in the kitchen! Those are pencil-width size tubes that are made by the worker termites that allow the termites to stay moist underground. They will utilize these tunnels to travel to and from their nest when foraging for food.
Solution
With the customer's permission, we drilled into the walls throughout the kitchen and injected a foaming termiticide. Once we finished treating the inside of the home we injected a liquid version of the termiticide around the entire exterior perimeter of the home. Both versions of the termiticide create a protective zone that is undetectable to the termites. These wood-destroying pests will come in contact with the termiticide, bring it back to their nest, and then transfer it throughout their colony.
The termiticide then spreads rapidly throughout their entire colony! In short amount of time, any and all termites will be exterminated and the home will be protected from termites for many years.
