Pests We Treat - Ants in Freehold, NJ

I went to a home in Freehold, NJ because the customer was complaining of a large amount of ants in her kitchen and dinning area. This is a very common call in the summer. Ants are attracted to the most minute amount of food or drink left out, or on counters. They can “sniff” it a mile away.  I asked the customer if there where any areas where she saw ant activity and she told me she saw some by the front door jamb. After investigating the area I found a very large trail of ants going under the siding by the front door. Upon further investigation I discovered where they where coming from. Following the trail is essential to get to the nest and queen. Our course of action is to bait the trail with a gel bait. The ants are almost instantaneously attracted to the gel, which is a slow acting chemical, allowing the ants to live long enough to bring the bait back to the nest. Within seconds the ants stopped trailing towards the home and quickly covered the bait. The customer was extremely happy to see the bait working so quickly.
