Floor Drains Are Dirty

The floor drains throughout the kitchen were dirty, full of food debris, and loaded with fruit flies and their larvae.

There was also food all over the floor. Fruit flies are not just attracted to fermenting fruits and vegetables, but also the fermenting sugars in alcoholic beverages. Any area that has a build up of discarded fruits or sweetened liquids is an attractant for fruit flies.

Treated The Floor Drains

For treatment, we applied a liquid application in all the floor drains and then scrubbed them out with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush. Next, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes the organic build-up, odors, and scum in all the drains.

Now for the Fruit Fly Traps

Next, we treated the high infestation areas with a fly bait to control the adult fruit flies and installed several fruit fly traps. The attractant in the traps draws the fruit flies close and the bait inside the traps exterminates them within moments of contact. In a short amount of time, the fruit flies will be gone for good.
