Pests We Treat Photo Album: Rats Infest the Basement in East Brunswick, NJ
This customer in East Brunswick, NJ had rats infesting his basement and this was how they got in.
Wasn't There Before
As we inspected the exterior of the property, we noticed that there was a hole in the bilco door to the basement. The homeowner had mentioned that there was no damage to the door before and this was new. We took a closer look and found some fur and droppings around the area.
Ripped Into the Bilco Door
Turns out that the rats had ripped a hole into the bilco door and made their way into the basement!
Rat Burrow
We also found a few rat burrows around the exterior too. Rats create these burrows to travel from their nest to a food source and to escape predators. Rat burrows usually contain a main entrance and 1 or 2 exit holes away from the main entrance.
Ready-to-Use
We installed several Ready-to-Use rodent bait stations near each of the burrows and throughout the basement. Once that was done we installed several snap traps that are inside temper-proof, child resistant boxes near the burrows. Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the rat infestation, apply any additional treatments, and replenish the bait stations as needed.
