Pests We Treat Photo Album: All the Ways the Mice Got Into the Home in Cliffwood, NJ
Here are the access points that the mice are using to infest this property in Cliffwood, NJ.
Wide Open
All of these openings around the utility pipes acted like a giant "Enter Here" sign for the mice. You can even see a buildup of their fur.
Small Enough for the Mice
Continuing our inspection on the exterior of the home, we noticed that the crawl space door had some openings underneath and around it - so we checked the area. Sure enough, we found a lot of mice droppings throughout the crawl space. Although the gaps around the door may seem small, a mouse can squeeze through an opening the width of a pencil.
Exhaust Vent Broken and Lots of Leaves
We also found a damaged exhaust vent that the mice were also using to enter the home as well as a lot of leaves around the area. As we checked the leaves, several mice ran out from underneath them! Leaves and leaf piles provide excellent shelter, warmth, nesting material, and cover from predators for the mice.
Set Up
We showed the owner all of the access points as well as mentioned some helpful tips to help protect her property. After that we set up a number of rodent bait stations throughout the crawl space, around the exterior of the home, and in several areas inside the home.
Come Back Again & Again
After scheduling several return visits with the homeowner, we mentioned that on our next visit we will replenish the bait stations as well as properly exclude any and all openings around the home.
