Pests We Treat Photo Album: Fruit Flies Breed in Poor Sanitation in Sea Girt, NJ
This restaurant in Sea Girt, NJ had a fruit fly infestation due to poor sanitation throughout the building.
What Caused It
As you can see, there was a bit of a sanitation issue that contributed to the fruit fly problem.
Problem Areas
There was discarded food underneath the kitchen equipment, a massive amount of grease buildup on the walls, and several of the floor drains were clogged with food debris and grease.
Showing the Managerial Team
We showed these issues to both the owner and the managers and informed them that these areas need to be cleaned ASAP and new cleaning protocol needs to be instituted in order to prevent problems with pests. We VERY happy that they agreed with us and began cleaning the problem areas.
We Went to Work
As they were doing that, we applied a liquid application in all the floor drains and then scrubbed them out with our heavy-duty brush. This will remove the breeding area for the fruit flies. Once we finished with that, we applied a bio-foam solution that is going to remove the organic build-up, odors, and scum inside the floor drains.
A Few More Things
Next, we treated the high infested areas with a fly bait to control the adult fruit flies that were still flying around. In a short amount of time, the fruit flies will be neutralized.
