Pests We Treat Photo Album: Sanitation Issues Causes Fruit Fly Problems in Toms River, NJ
Due to a number of sanitation issues, this restaurant in Toms River, NJ had a severe fruit fly infestation.
Dirty Dishes Left Out
During our inspection, we found a number of sanitation issues that contributed to the fruit fly problem. There was grease all over the walls, dirty dishes from the previous night left out and not cleaned...
Cleanliness is Key
...and the frying stations haven't been cleaned in a long time. After mentioning these sanitation issues, the owner and his staff immediately started cleaning the infestation areas and started disposing of all contaminated food.
Started the Fruit Fly Treatment
In the meantime we applied a liquid application in all the floor drains and then scrubbed them out with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush. Next, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes the organic build-up, odors, and scum in the drains.
Last Couple of Steps
Next, we treated the infestation areas with a fly bait to control the adult fruit flies and installed several fruit fly traps. The attractant in the traps draws the fruit flies close and the bait inside the traps exterminates them within moments of contact. In a short amount of time, the fruit flies will be gone for good.
