Pests We Treat Photo Album: Real Estate Sale Delayed Because of Termites in Lincroft, NJ
Previously, we performed a WDI (Wood-Destroying Insect) report at this property in Lincroft, NJ, and discovered that the home had a termite and powder post beetle infestation. Needless to say, this paused the sale process until the home is treated.
Active Mud Tubes
We found several active termite mud tubes in the beams. Subterranean termites build distinctive mud tubes
to gain access to food sources and to protect themselves from
open air.
Info on Powder Post Beetles
"Powder post beetle" is a term used to describe several species of small (1/8-3/4 inch long) insects that reduce wood to a flour-like powder.
Treating for Termites
For treatment, we drilled into the concrete surrounding the home and injected a liquid termiticide.
Foaming Termiticide
We also injected a termiticide foam into the beams and other wood members in the basement.
Termites Don't Detect It
Both of these applications create a protective zone that the termites or the powderpost beetles can't detect. Once they come in contact with either of these treatments and bring them back to their nest to share, they are exterminated.
Resume the Sales Process
Now that the entire property has been effectively treated from top to bottom, the homeowner can resume selling his home.
