As I inspected the interior of the home, I found ants in the living room. I followed their trail leading to the outside and discovered that they were entering the home underneath the siding.
I continued following their trail to a landscape bed about 20 feet from the home and found their main nest!
With the owners permission, I treated the interior baseboards in the living room and the two adjacent rooms with a residual non-repellent. I then treated the exterior perimeter of the home and along the sidewalk with the same product.
For the landscape beds, I applied a granular bait. When the ants come in contact with either of these treatments, they'll bring the products back to their nest and transfer it to the other members of the colony, including the queen. The final result is the extermination of the entire colony.
I was sent out on a service call for a homeowner in Manalapan, NJ who was having issues with ants invading his home.
