Upon investigation, I found a trail of ants in the corner of the garage leading up above the garage doors.
In a small crevice between the wood and the garage door was a massive nest of odorous house ants. Odorous house ants are tiny, fast ants that give off a strong, rotten coconut-like smell when crushed.
I applied an aerosol agent directly to their nest that flushes the ants out of hiding as well as eliminates them on contact. Next, I applied a liquid residual throughout the entire garage area and along the exterior perimeter of the home. I also applied a granular bait along the landscape beds and the garage area.
The odorous house ants will come in contact with either of these treatments and share it with one another through grooming or feeding. Shortly after, the entire colony is exterminated.
I went out on a service call for a couple in Spring Lake, NJ who spotted a trail of "stinky" ants in their garage.
