Beginning my inspection, it was easy to spot the nest. A closer look revealed that this was a paper wasp nest.
Although the nest is small, paper wasps are extremely aggressive and care is needed for proper removal. Their stings are painful and they will repeatedly sting anything that they deem a threat.
I used my expandable bee pole with a knockdown aerosol to neutralize the nest immediately.
I then removed the nest and sprayed the area with a residual to prevent the wasps or other stinging insects from rebuilding.
I then swept and cleaned the area of any leftover debris.
While treating a community in Freehold, NJ, one of the residents came to me and mention that she spotted a wasps nest above her garage door.
