Pests We Treat - Winged ant or termite?
What's the difference between these two types of swarmers? At first glance, termite swarmers look similar to ant swarmers. Upon closer inspection, however, there are a few key differences. First, termite swarmers have two segments to their body where ants have three. The termite swarmer has a straight wide body whereas the ant has a thin "pinched" waist. Also, the wings on a termite swarmer are longer in comparison to an ant swarmer, and a termites' wings are of equal length while ants have unequal length wings. Finally, termite swarmers have straight antennae wile the antennae of flying ants are bent.
