Grease & Old Food Causes Fruit Fly Infestation in Pine Beach, NJ
Challenge
This restaurant in Pine Beach, NJ a bad fruit fly infestation in their kitchen. Once we arrived and began inspecting the area, we knew exactly what was causing the infestation - poor sanitation. There was so much discarded food and trash underneath the equipment, almost every single one of the floor drains were clogged with discarded food debris and overflowing, and there was grease, dirt, and even mold on some of the utility pipes and drains. We brought these issues to the owner's attention and, after mentioning these sanitation problems, she and her staff immediately started cleaning.
Solution
As they were cleaning up we applied a liquid application in all the floor drains and then scrubbed them out with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush. Next, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes the organic build-up, odors, and scum in all the drains. After that was done we treated the high infestation areas with a fly bait to control the adult fruit flies and installed several fruit fly traps. The attractant in the traps draws the fruit flies close and the bait inside the traps exterminates them within moments of contact. In a short amount of time, the fruit flies will be exterminated for good.
