Termites Found in the Attic in Lavallette, NJ
Challenge
During a spring service for a Home Protection Plan customer in Lavallette, NJ we found something very interesting in the attic - active subterranean termites! Judging by the damage they inflicted to the wooden beams, they have been present in the attic for quite some time. Termites are often called the silent destroyers of homes because these subterranean insects do their damage hidden from plain view. These wood destroying insects cost homeowners up to $5 billion dollars annually, and what's worse is that the damage isn't covered by most home insurance companies!
We showed the owner, and she opted in for an immediate termite treatment.
Solution
We injected a foaming termiticide into each one of the wooden beams throughout the attic. After that we then went outside and injected a liquid version of the termiticide around the entire exterior perimeter of the home. The termiticides will bind to the treated areas and create a protective zone that is undetectable to the termites. As they go back and forth to their colony, they'll come in contact with it, bring it back to their nest, and then transfer it throughout their colony. In a short amount of time, the termites will be exterminated and the home will be protected from these wood-destroying insects for many years.
