Squirrels Chew Right Into the Attic Valley in Plainsboro, NJ
Several squirrels had chewed into the attic valley of this home in Plainsboro, NJ and made a nice little nest in the inside. In order to safely retrieve them we installed a positive set directly over the opening they made. A positive set is a device that's comprised of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone will guide the squirrels safely into the heavy-duty device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the squirrels will enter the device! As a matter of fact, a short while later, we successfully retrieved all of them and then took them to a new, safer location.
After disinfecting the attic, we cut a piece of sturdy metal flashing and installed it over the hole the squirrels had made. Once that was done we then applied a premium adhesive to the metal flashing, spread it across the area, and applied roof grit to the flashing to blend it in with the color of the roof. Now the roof is repaired, looks good as new, and the squirrels are excluded from this access point.
