Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Loose Gutter Nail Prevents an Opportunity for Squirrel in Martinsville, NJ
Lets get this squirrel before it does any more damage to the home.
A Lost Nail
There was a lost nail in the gutter and, over time, the it got loose.
Chewed Its Way In
The squirrel took this as an opportunity to chew a hole into the home to gain access into the attic!
Lot of Squirrel Poop
There was a plethora of its droppings throughout the attic. In order to safely retrieve the squirrel safely, we installed a positive set over the chewed out opening, temporarily enclosed the area off with hardware cloth, and set up a number of baited devices nearby.
Gotta Stay Positive
A positive set is made up of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone is going to safely guide the squirrel into the device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the squirrel will enter the device! Once it does, we're going to take it to a new humane location, disinfect the attic, and install sturdy metal flashing over the main access point. The owner is going to hire a contractor to repair his gutter at a later date.
