Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Fox Den Under the Deck in Spring Lake, NJ
There was an active fox den underneath this customer's deck in Spring Lake, NJ.
Let's Be Positive
We're going to install Dig Defense® over the entire perimeter of the deck except for the main access point. Over that area we're going to install a positive set. A positive set is a device that's comprised of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone will guide the foxes safely into the heavy-duty device. Why the funny name? Because we are positive that the foxes will enter the device!
Exactly, What is Dig Defense®
Dig Defense® is a below-ground fence system that is 15 inches deep and 4 feet across. When foxes create burrows or dens (called "earths"), they dig tunnel systems that slope downward at an angle or ramp into the earth, usually descending gradually to a main nesting chamber about 3 to 6 feet deep. Dig Defense® is going to protect the deck and prevent all nuisance wildlife from harboring underneath the area.
Completed Set Up
We also installed a new lattice over the Dig Defense® to blend in with the aesthetic of the deck. Once we retrieve all the foxes - we will take them to a safer environment, fill in the burrow, and install another portion of Dig Defense® over the access point.
