Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Squirrels Chewed Into the Roof in Rumson, NJ
We were sent out on a service call to remove some squirrels that had infested this property in Rumson, NJ.
Chewed Right Into the Roof
As you can see, the squirrels chewed into the roof and made their way inside the home!
We Will Stay Positive
To safely retrieve the squirrels, we installed a positive set directly over the opening they made. A positive set is a device that's comprised of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone will guide the squirrels safely into the heavy-duty device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the squirrels will enter the device! As a matter of fact, a short while later, we successfully retrieved them all and then took them to a new, safer location.
Now to Exclude Them
After disinfecting the attic, we cut a piece of sturdy metal flashing and installed it over the hole the squirrels had made.
Roof Grit to Blend In
Once that was done we then applied a premium adhesive to the metal flashing, spread it across the area, and applied roof grit to the flashing to blend it in with the color of the roof. Now the roof is repaired, looks good as new, and the squirrels are excluded from this access point.
