Raccoons Break Into 3 Gable Vents in Howell, NJ

After hearing noises during all hours of the evening, this customer in Howell, NJ contacted our Little Rascals Nuisance Wildlife Division for assistance and we were sent out. When we arrived and inspected the home, we noticed that three of the gable vents were damaged. When we took a closer look at the damage, we found raccoon hair and paw prints around each area. Looks the homeowner has a raccoon infestation!

We installed a one-way over each of the gable vents and then temporarily enclosed them with hardware cloth. A one-way is designed to allow the raccoons to safely leave the area, but prevent them from getting back in. We also set-up several baited devices nearby. A short while later, we safely retrieved all of the raccoons that had infested the home and took them to a new, safer location.

We then disinfected the attic and went back to our trucks to fashion a louvered vent guard. We then installed one over each of the gable vents. The louvered vent guard is made out of heavy-duty Galvannealed steel. It won't rust, is customized to accommodate vents of all shapes and sizes, and properly secures the gable vents from not just raccoons, but all nuisance wildlife and birds too.
