This Was Why
There were a number of sanitation issues that contributed to the massive fruit fly infestation. This clogged drain was just one of them.
Grease & Dirt Behind Here
There was a massive buildup of dirt, grease, and other sugary liquids underneath and behind the kitchen equipment...
Bar Area a Mess
...and the bar area was a mess. We showed the owner all of these sanitation issues and informed them that to get rid of the fruit flies, and prevent other pest infestations, all of these dirty areas must be cleaned and kept clean. We were very happy that he took our advise seriously and started to address these issues.
Remove All That Gunk
As they were cleaning we applied a liquid application in all the floor drains and then scrubbed them out with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush. Next, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes the organic build-up, odors, and scum in all the drains. The organic material in the drains is the breeding ground for the fruit flies and once that is gone, so will the fruit flies.
Gone for Good
Afterward, we treated the high infestation areas with a fly bait to control the adult fruit flies and installed several fruit fly traps. The attractant in the traps draws the fruit flies close and the bait inside the traps exterminates them within moments of contact. In a short amount of time, the fruit flies will be gone for good.
