Termite Swarmers Coming from the Wall
As we investigated the living room wall (where they were first sighted) we noticed several termite swarmers were pouring out of a tiny hole in the wall.
How to Identify a Termite Swarmer
Those are the winged adult reproductives in which termite colonies send out in search of a hospitable area. Unlike other termites in a colony, swarmers are attracted to light. Termite swarmers have two pairs of wings that are the same length (which is how you tell the difference between them and other pest swarmers). Their antennae are straight, opposed to ants that have bent antennae, and their waist section is also not pinched like ants.
Time to Inject Termiticide
With the owner's permission, we drilled into the wall and injected a foaming termiticide. After that, we then drilled around the exterior of the home and injected a liquid version of the termiticide. What both of these treatments do is create a protective zone that is undetectable to the termites. The termites will come in contact with the termiticide, bring it back to their nest, and then transfer it throughout their colony.
Termites Share the Termiticide
The termiticide then spreads rapidly, like a virus, throughout their entire colony! In short amount of time, any and all termites will be exterminated and the home will be protected from termites for many years.
