The Builder's Gap Allows Squirrels to Infest Home in Beachwood, NJ
A number of squirrels were exploiting the builder's gap of this property in Beachwood, NJ and infesting the home. A builders gap is the gap between the fascia board (where the gutter is hung) and roof decking. This gap is caused when roof decking is stopped too short and is not flush with the fascia. The gap is meant to help with airflow throughout the attic, but is also the perfect place for nuisance wildlife to enter your home!
After safely retrieving and relocating all the squirrels out of this home, we excluded the area with Pest-Blok. Pest-Blok is a sturdy material that undergoes a silicone-protected polyester coating process, which makes it last longer. It doesn't restrict the airflow to the attic & guards the home against all types of nuisance wildlife. Now the builder's gap is properly secured and the squirrels, as well as birds & bats, are excluded from the area.
