Disinfecting a Mice Filled Crawl Space in Woodbridge, NJ
This customer in Woodbridge, NJ had a massive mice infestation throughout her crawl space. Previously, our Pest Control technicians came out, installed several rodent bait stations throughout the area, and successfully removed all of the mice out of the home. Now we're here to clean up the massive mess that the mice had left in the crawl space.
There was a large buildup of mice droppings throughout the area and almost all of the insulation was saturated with their urine. First, we carefully removed all of the contaminated insulation as well as the mice droppings. Afterward, we disinfected the entire crawl space with an EPA registered antimicrobial called MAPS 1. This will not only disinfect the crawl space, but also eliminate any and all mold and mildew growth. Afterward, we installed ComfortTherm® Insulation throughout the crawl space. ComfortTherm® Insulation is poly-encapsulated and is ideal for moisture-rich crawl space environments. The insulation also helps to preserve the air quality, reduce energy costs, provide excellent temperature and noise control, and comes with a vapor-retarder for use in hot, humid climates.
Lastly, since the humidity levels in the crawl space were a little high, we installed a commercial grade Sedona dehumidifier. This is a powerful, energy-efficient, commercial-grade dehumidifier that outperforms standard household dehumidifiers by as much as 10 times while using the same amount of energy to run.
Taking Out Contaminated Crawl Space Insulation in Freehold, NJ
A new client in Freehold, NJ, was in desperate need of new insulation in his crawl space. A short while ago, a pipe burst, flooding the entire crawl space. The pipe was repaired, but the insulation got saturated. Fortunately, mold hasn't developed yet, but if not treated immediately, it's only a matter of time until it does!
First, we removed all the contaminated insulation from the crawl space and disposed of it properly. Afterward, we wiped down all the joists and installed ComfortTherm® insulation. ComfortTherm® insulation provides excellent temperature and noise control and comes with a vapor retarder for use in hot, humid climates. Next, we installed SilverGlo™ on the walls of the crawl space. SilverGlo™ is a waterproof foam insulation that seals the walls from outside moisture and humidity.
Lastly, we installed a Sani-Dry Sedona commercial-grade dehumidifier to control the humidity levels in the crawl space. The Sedona directs the extracted water pulled out of the air directly into the sump pump, which will also maintain the humidity levels in the crawl space.
Replacing an Old & Broken Crawl Space Door in Morganville, NJ
We were sent out to a home in Morganville, NJ to replace the broken crawl space door. The latch to the door was broken and barely hanging on, which lead to a mouse infestation in the crawl space. After our Pest Control technicians had performed a thorough rodent control service and removed the mice, we're going to exclude that area.
In order to accomplish that, we removed the old door and installed an Everlast™ door. An Everlast™ door is made from ½-in.-thick PVC plastic that will never warp, crack, shrink, require maintenance or painting and will prevent any unwanted pests and moisture from entering the crawl space. These covers, which can be installed against wood framing or masonry, close off outside air and moisture from entering the crawl space through the exterior vents. These covers not only work well, but are also aesthetically pleasing!
Installing The Turtl™ in Matawan, NJ
We're at this home in Matawan, NJ to install new crawl space access door. Old-fashioned crawl space access wells are often drafty and leaky, and they can allow pests and feral animals into your home. Over time, these wells will begin to fill with leaves, plants, and debris. The wood will rot, the metal will rust, and when it rains or snows, they'll fill with water, flooding the crawl space.
To solve this problem, we removed the old & rotted crawl space door and replaced it with the Turtl™. The Turtl™ is a durable plastic crawl space access well that provides an airtight cover that serves as a crawl space access well and door combined! The rigid plastic design will hold up to daily wear and tear. Its rigid plastic design ensures that it will never rot, rust, or need paint. For increased security and protection, The Turtl™ can be secured shut with a locking device, like a door. Most importantly, The Turtl™ protects your home from water and moisture damage, keeping your crawl space safe, clean, and dry!
