Closing Up All the Access Point for Birds in Lawrenceville, NJ

This business in Lawrenceville, NJ had a large infestation of birds in the building. There were able to get in via several openings around the building. Apparently, the business owner had recently renovated the property and removed several utility pipes and exhaust vents. The only problem was that he forgot to seal them up! So the birds took full advantage and resided in these areas.

For treatment, we carefully removed all the nesting debris and then properly disinfected every single harborage point. Next, we placed sturdy metal flashing over all the holes in the building and painted them to blend in with the color of the exterior.

Keeping the Starlings Out of the Exhaust Vents in Lawrenceville, NJ

A new customer in Lawrenceville, NJ contacted Bird Solutions by Cowleys for some assistance removing the number of starlings that had infested her home. When we arrived we discovered that the starlings were getting into the home by flying right into several old exhaust vents that were either left wide open or badly damaged. A short while after setting up our retrieval devices we were able to safely remove all of the starlings from the property. All that's left was do make sure that they don't get back in!

To accomplish that, first we disinfected each exhaust vent with a solution that eliminates bird mites. Bird mites are parasites that feed on the blood of birds. When birds leave their nests, the mites are left behind without a suitable host for their next blood meal and make their way into a home. What's worse is that are tiny and semi-transparent, which means that they are extremely difficult to detect! After disinfecting the exhaust vents we installed a DryerWallVent® over each one.

The DryerWallVent® is made out of heavy-duty galvanized steel and its large opening and angled damper provide maximum airflow efficiency for safe venting. It's sturdy integrated magnets keep the damper closed when not in use which prevents birds as well as all nuisance wildlife from getting back in the area!

Starlings Nest in Concrete Ceiling of Party Deck in Piscataway, NJ

Starlings had infested this football stadium in Piscataway, NJ and were roosting in the concrete ceiling of one of the party decks. Since both management, staff, and football fans weren't too keen of getting bird droppings on them, Bird Solutions by Cowleys was sent out.

First, we carefully removed all of the nesting debris and then disinfected the areas with a solution that exterminates bird mites. Afterward, we removed the old material and installed bird netting. In order make sure the bird netting is secured, we used a stainless steel cable with net spikes and anchored it into the walls. We then locked the cables in place using copper ferrules and then installed turnbuckles which tighten the cable.

Bird netting is a 3/4 inch, heavy duty polyethylene bird netting that's used to humanely block the starlings from entering any unwanted areas. It creates an impenetrable barrier that denies the starlings, as well as all nuisance birds, access to these areas and removes the landing areas for them. The starlings are going to fly around, realize they can't enter, and move on. Now the stadium is properly excluded from all nuisance birds.

Hole in the Peak Allows Starlings to Infest Home in South Brunswick, NJ

This customer in South Brunswick, NJ had an infestation of starlings in her attic and wanted Birds Solutions by Cowleys to safely remove them. As we inspected the exterior of her home, we immediately located the access point - a giant opening below the soffit on the right side of the home! This was how the starlings were able to gain access into the attic.

The first thing we did was carefully remove all of the nesting debris out of the attic. Once we finished with that, we then disinfected the entire attic with a application that targets and exterminates bird mites. Bird mites are parasites that feed on the blood of birds and are one of the main reasons why extreme care is needed when removing a birds nest.

Lastly, in order to successfully exclude the starlings, as well as all nuisance birds, from the home, we installed Pest-Blok over the giant opening. Pest-Blok doesn't restrict the airflow to the attic, undergoes a silicone-protected polyester coating process that makes it last longer, and guards the home against nuisance birds, bats, and all nuisance wildlife.

Condo Experiencing Problem with Starlings in Hightstown, NJ

Several technicians from of our Bird Solutions Division were sent out to a condominium association in Hightstown, NJ to remove some starlings that had infested a number of units. Starlings have a reputation of being the most annoying and common home-invading birds in the US. Starlings are stocky black birds with short tails, triangular wings, and long, pointed bills. They nest in holes and cavities and often use holes in buildings — primarily dryer or exhaust vents.

Sure enough, when we inspected the exterior of the building, we discovered that the starlings were invading the units by squeezing through a number of damaged and weathered exhaust vents. In order to safely remove them from the property, we disinfected several of the exhaust vents and installed a DryerWallVent® over all of them except for the most active one. Over that one we installed a customized one-way over it and temporarily enclosed the area off with hardware cloth. This will allow the starlings to leave the area safely but prevent them from getting back in. After a short period of time, all of the starlings had been removed from the condo unit. We then disinfected that exhaust vent and installed a DryerWallVent® over it.

The DryerWallVent® is made out of heavy-duty galvanized steel and its large opening and angled damper provide maximum airflow efficiency for safe venting. Integrated magnets keep the damper closed when not in use - preventing birds, pests, bats, and all nuisance wildlife from infesting the condo units.
