Bird Control Services Photo Album: Bird Nesting in Pork Chop in Barnegat, NJ
These birds made a mess in the pork chop of the home.
Damage Pork Chop
The birds were nesting in the pork chop and causing some severe damage. A "pork chop" refers to a triangular piece of trim, often made of wood or vinyl, that is used to finish the eaves (the edge of the roof that overhangs the wall) of a gable roof. It essentially covers the triangular void between the roof framing and the wall, providing a clean and finished look while protecting the underlying structure from the elements.
One-Way
We temporarily enclosed the area off and installed a custom one-way device over the main access point. This will allow the birds to safely leave the area but prevent them from getting back in.
Remove All The Nesting
A short while after setting up our devices, all of the birds had safely left the home! So we carefully removed all of the nesting debris and then disinfected the area with a solution that targets and eliminates a blood-sucking pest called bird mites.
All Gone
Now that all the nesting debris is gone and the area has been disinfected...
New Wooden Piece
We installed a new piece of wood over the pork chop!
Blends Right In
We then fashioned a piece of sturdy metal flashing and installed it over the new wooden piece to prevent any future nuisance bird or wildlife infestation!
