Nails Falling Out
Upon arrival, we noticed that the nails for the fascia trim have backed out, which caused a big gap.
The Result
Due to this, birds were entering the area and filling it with their nesting material!
An Eye Out for Bird Mites
The first thing we did was carefully removed all of the nesting debris. Afterward, disinfected the area with a solution that targets bird mites. Bird mites are parasites that feed on the blood of birds. When birds leave their nests, the mites are left behind without a suitable host for their next blood meal and make their way into a home. Once inside, they take over and start feeding on the family! To make matters worse, bird mites are tiny and semi-transparent, so they are extremely difficult to detect!
Repair the Area
Lastly, we installed sturdy metal flashing and properly screwed them into the fascia trim. The client won't be hearing from those nuisance birds anymore!
