Attic Insulation Photo Album: Attic Gets New Blown-In Cellulose Insulation in Brielle, NJ
We're going to add some much needed blown-in cellulose insulation to this customer's attic in Brielle, NJ.
Old & Dirty
All of the fiberglass insulation throughout the attic was old & dirty.
Health Hazards of Old Fiberglass Insulation
Old fiberglass insulation becomes less effective and poses health risks due to its degradation, making it a poor insulator, a breeding ground for mold and pests, and a source of airborne dust and particles
Removed & Then Disinfect
We removed every single piece of fiberglass insulation and then properly disposed of them. After that, we disinfected the entire attic.
Air Sealing
Next, we air sealed all the gaps and cracks in the attic. Doing this will eliminate air flow between the living space and the attic, which in turn improves energy efficiency.
Just the Right Amount
We then added several markers throughout the attic to ensure that the proper amount of R-value is added.
Now for TruSoft
Lastly, we added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation throughout the attic.
