Underperforming

The fiberglass insulation throughout the attic was old, dirty, and underperforming. While fiberglass is strong and lightweight, it is also brittle and can be easily damaged.

Take Out All of the Fiberglass

So we removed every single piece of fiberglass insulation, disposed of them properly, and cleaned the area.

Before Adding Blown-In Cellulose Insulation

After that, we installed Tight Shell Can Light Covers over the recessed lights and then air sealed them and all the gaps and cracks throughout the attic. Air sealing eliminates the air flow between the living space and the attic and greatly improves energy efficiency. The Tight Shell Can Light Covers are made out of a fire resistant material and is specifically designed to stop unwanted air leakage through the recessed lights.

Now We Add TruSoft Blown-In Cellulose Insulation

Once we finished with that, we added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation throughout the attic. TruSoft insulation maximizes home comfort, has the highest Class-1 fire safety rating, is resistant to mold and pests, is eco-friendly, and optimizes energy usage for year-round peace and savings for the homeowner.

Adding Markers

We made sure to place several of our markers throughout the area. This is to ensure that the proper amount of R-value is added to the attic

Add ComfortTherm® Insulation Over There

Next, we installed ComfortTherm® Insulation to one area of the attic wall. ComfortTherm® Insulation is poly-encapsulated and helps to preserve the air quality, reduce energy costs, provide excellent temperature and noise control, and comes with a vapor-retarder for use in hot, humid climates.

Now the Insulation Cover for the Attic Door

Finally, we installed an attic door insulation cover. This attic door insulation cover is made of high-quality fireproof materials and 2 layers of aluminum, which can effectively block heat transfer, make your indoor temperature more pleasant, and give you a comfortable and healthy environment.
