Upgrading the Attic with Blown-In Cellulose Insulation in Millstone Township, NJ
Challenge
After over 40 years living in his home, this customer in Millstone Township, NJ decided it was time to upgrade the insulation in his attic. So he contacted our Attic Systems division and we were sent out to add TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation. When we arrived, we noticed that all of the fiberglass insulation throughout the attic was old & dirty. Old fiberglass insulation becomes less effective and poses health risks due to its degradation, making it a poor insulator, a breeding ground for mold and pests, and a source of airborne dust and particles
Solution
We removed every single piece of fiberglass insulation and then properly disposed of them. After that, we disinfected the entire attic. Next, we air sealed all the gaps and cracks in the attic. Doing this will eliminate air flow between the living space and the attic, which in turn improves energy efficiency. Lastly, we added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation throughout the attic.
