Bird Control Services Photo Album: Birds Roost in the Attic in Sea Girt, NJ
The attic area of this home in Sea Girt, NJ was heavily infested with birds.
A Ton of Nesting Debris
As you can see, there is a massive amount of nesting debris and bird feathers in the attic. The birds were able to squeeze through the gable vent, despite the owner's attempt to seal it off.
Severe Hazard to the Family
Bird nesting debris in an attic poses severe biohazard and safety risks. Dried droppings harbor fungal spores that cause respiratory diseases like histoplasmosis, while the organic material attracts blood-sucking parasites (bird mites, ticks) into living spaces. Furthermore, dry twigs and feathers create immediate fire hazards near electrical wiring
Over 100lbs
So we carefully removed all of the nesting debris in the attic. In total, it was over 100 lbs of nesting debris!
Disinfect the Area
We then disinfected the entire attic with a solution that eliminates bird mites. Bird mites are parasites that feed on the blood of birds. When birds leave their nests, the mites are left behind without a suitable host for their next blood meal and make their way into a home. What's worse is that are tiny and semi-transparent, which means that they are extremely difficult to detect!
Now for Louvered Vent Guard
After all the was completed, we installed a louvered vent guard over the gable vent. This material is made out of heavy-duty Galvannealed steel (which means it won't rust), is customized to accommodate vents of all shapes & sizes, and will prevent nuisance birds, as well as other nuisance wildlife, from entering the home through the gable vents.
