Removing Contaminated Insulation & Adding TruSoft Cellulose Insulation in Fair Haven, NJ

This customer in Fair Haven, NJ recently had a raccoon living in his attic. Although our Little Rascal Nuisance Wildlife team had safely removed the raccoon, it left a huge mess. The insulation was soaked with urine and loaded with feces from the raccoon. So our Attic Systems team was sent out to remove and replace the insulation.

First, we carefully removed all of the contaminated insulation and debris throughout the attic and then disinfected it. We then placed several measuring markers throughout the attic to guarantee that the proper amount of R-value is added and installed Tight Shell Can Light Covers over the recessed lights in the attic. These are made out of a fire resistant material and is specifically designed to stop unwanted air leakage through the recessed lights.

Lastly, we added approximately 12 inches TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation throughout the attic.
