Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Crack in the Foundation Allows Raccoon Entrance to the Crawl Space in South Plainfield, NJ
This raccoon was causing a massive mess in this customer's crawl space in South Plainfield, NJ.
A Small Opening
We noticed this small opening in the back of the home which lead into the crawl space.
Raccoon Poop Everywhere
When we inspected the crawl space, we found a plethora of raccoon droppings throughout the area! Raccoon feces can be a source of several health risks, primarily due to the presence of roundworm eggs, which can cause Baylisascaris procyonis, otherwise called Raccoon Roundworm.
Setting Up
We installed a positive set over the main access point, temporarily enclosed it off with hardware cloth, and setup several baited devices nearby. A positive set is a device that's comprised of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone will guide the raccoon safely into the heavy-duty device. Why is it called a positive set? Because we are positive that the raccoon will enter the device!
After a Short Period of Time
Once we retrieve the raccoon, we're going to relocate it to a new, humane environment and fill in the burrow. The homeowner will repair that area once we are finished.
