Wildlife Removal Case Studies: Raccoons damage Keyport, NJ attic

I was called out to a home in Keyport, NJ because the owner detected a really bad smell in home. In addition, she was hearing noises in the walk-up attic of her older home. So you walk upstairs into a finished bedroom and access the attic by walking into the bedroom closet. The attic part was unfinished on both sides of the bedroom, and only at the very front of the home. So I put on my gear, and crawled through a narrow side part of the attic to the front bigger unfinished area. The smell in the attic was so strong I could smell it thru my face mask, so I knew once I got to the front part there was a good chance I would run into a nesting raccoon.

Well the good news was the raccoon wasn't home at that moment. (I didn't know at the time, it had already been removed by the previous owner, and it's entry sealed up.) But the the bad news was I was now in the middle of what the raccoon used as it's bathroom....raccoon scat was everywhere, and the insulation was completely urine soaked, creating this horrific smell in the home.

Cowleys will remove all the soiled insulation from the attic, sanitize and deodorize the entire attic, and replace the insulation with a much better product called T.A.P Pest Control Insulation. This insulation is great for attics because it in infused with a pesticide grade boric acid, that kills insects, and has odor control and disinfectant qualities.

Raccoon Scat (POOP) Fairly large, like dog poo. Averages 3/4 inch in diameter. The sides are usually textured, and the tips are often rounded or broken off.
