Cowleys Pest Services Case Studies: Bats make mess and we clean it up - Bat control and removal services in Dayton, NJ

Thursday, October 13th, 2016 by Bill Cowley

This Dayton homeowner had a colony, or cloud, of bats in her attic, leaving a toxic mess of guano and urine throughout. Cowleys Pest Services has developed a comprehensive 5-step process to ensure that if you have been invaded by nuisance wildlife that left a mess, we are able to completely clean out the damaged insulation or plywood and sanitize and deodorize the area. We removed the insulation that was destroyed by bat guano and urine. After the removal, we vacuumed, sanitized, and deodorized the entire attic until all remnants of a bat infestation were gone.

Cowleys is a licensed dealer and installer of TAP Pest Control Insulation, one of the best insulation products on the market. TAP stands for Thermal, Acoustical, and Pest Control. This insulation offers superior thermal and acoustical (sound-deadening) properties as well as third component that is missing from most insulation products — pest control. Its paper fibers are treated with a borate solution that’s harmless

For this attic, we blew in 10" of fresh new TAP insulation. Because of its excellent thermal capabilities, TAP insulation helps reduce heating and cooling bills. Ten inches of TAP insulation has a 40 R-value — more than enough for the high and low temperatures that we expect in New Jersey. A higher R-value increases the efficiency of the HVAC system by keeping the home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, and with TAP insulation, a homeowner will see noticeable savings on their utility bills.
