Pests We Treat - German Cockroach caught in action in Matawan, NJ

Watch this short clip of a German roach that was “caught on camera” found inside a restaurant dealing with a stubborn cockroach infestation. The roach is trying to find a small crack or crevasse in which to hide. Roaches like to stay out of sight and hide in dark cracks, unless they are scavenging for food or water.  They are not much much larger than a nickel, and they are extremely quick when on the move. Their behavior makes it easy for them to find small hiding spots to start laying eggs and begin to take control of kitchens, homes, and restaurants.

Whenever there is a roach infestation, German roaches are the prime suspect. Roaches, well, there is no other way to say it — are disgusting, vile insects. They are often associated with dirty conditions, and rightly so. Unfortunately, roaches quickly infest other clean areas of apartments or other buildings. They seem to overrun areas and take over spaces by crawling, eating, and defecating all over anything and everything in its path. Mostly active during the night, these pest are constantly on the move in search of food, invading ever larger areas in their search. They are persistent and resilient insects. German roaches are especially attracted to greasy messy areas to lay eggs and eat.

Treatments in the smallest cracks and behind certain areas is the most effective method to deal with an infestation as well as an Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM) that includes improving hygiene to reduce the chance of future infestations.
